PULSE SURVEY – RELEASED TODAY!
The first Pulse Survey for 2018 was released today. Open to every Salvation Army Officer, employee and volunteer in Australia, the Pulse surveys are designed to ‘check the Pulse’ of you, all Salvos; listening and learning about what you are thinking and how you are feeling as we continue on our national transformation journey.
Individuals with a Salvation Army lotus notes email address will have received an email about the survey today. The survey can also be accessed by clicking here: Surveymonkey.com/r/tsapulse3
Please note, this is one of a number of surveys that you will have the opportunity to participate in throughout the year. If you received an email with the subject line: “FINAL – Pulse Survey”, please disregard the subject line.
The survey is anonymous and only takes 5 minutes to complete. Please embrace this opportunity to provide honest feedback. Your responses help us improve and enable us to support and inform you better.
A CHAT WITH LYN – THIS THURSDAY, 2PM AEST
On Thursday 26th April, at 2pm AEST, the second ‘Chat with Lyn’ – a live conversation with National Secretary for Mission, Lt Colonel Lyn Edge – will take place.
A series of open, online conversations with Lyn have been scheduled, designed to help answer questions about Mission Delivery (including the Social Program Review, Local Mission Delivery Operating Model and Mission Department Design).
All Salvos throughout Australia are welcome to participate in the conversation. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have – no question is off limits! Questions can be submitted prior to the chat via firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Questions can also be asked during the live chat.
To join the chat on Thursday, or to watch a playback of the first ‘Chat with Lyn’, please head to: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/dpBYE8rsSSh
SOCIAL PROGRAM REVIEW – THE FREEDOM PARTNERSHIP UPDATE
On 13 March 2018, Lt Colonel Lyn Edge announced the outcomes of the Social Program Review which included a further review of the Freedom Partnership.
As a result of the review, there will be some changes to The Freedom Partnership services to strengthen the alignment to The Salvation Army’s National Vision, enabling us to have a greater impact in supporting vulnerable people.
What these changes mean
- The Safe House function of The Freedom Partnership, offering accommodation and emergency support to victims of modern-day slavery, will come under the management of AUE Homelessness and Accommodation services, managed by Lesley Butt.
- The Advocacy function will come under the management of the National Policy, Research and Social Justice Department, led by Dr Ellli McGavin.
- These changes are to take effect by 30 June 2018.
These changes will result in some staff impacts and these staff have been advised. We are providing assistance to support them during this transition. The Salvation Army has been committed to ending slavery for the last century and we are grateful for the work of staff within The Freedom Partnership. We will continue to live, love and fight alongside victims of people trafficking and slavery, to transform Australia one life at a time.
