Up to a thousand attended StreetLevel's Christmas Day lunch this year, which was held at the magnificent Technology Park in Sydney. We took up four bays on Locomotive Street and provided a scrumptious lunch along with entertainment for all ages. We organised shuttling buses from various pick-up points in the city bringing people to the event whilst Pat Daley, our fantastic MC, welcomed guests as they entered.

Some of the things available to our community members on Christmas day included a children's jumping castle, air hockey tables and basketball hoops for the older kids, an Internet truck and mobile phone unit, a fresh coffee van and even a Santa's Winter Wonderland. Families were able to have the photo taken with Santa and printed out on the spot!

Dinner consisted of delicious pork kindly donated to us by the NSW Farmers Association along with a variety of salads and even BBQ for the kids. We had cupcakes, fruit salad, Christmas Pud and a big fairy floss machine to top it off.

Each child got a selection of gifts and every adult got a hamper at the end of the event. Some people that attended stated that it was the best Christmas Day they had ever had which made all the hard work and preparation worth it.

As the event coordinator I would like to thank all of the individuals and companies who gave so generously this Christmas. From the catering equipment we borrowed to the costumes, to the freshly baked cupcakes that got devoured to the coffee van, we appreciate it greatly and would not have been able to put on this Christmas Day if it hadn't have been for you! This applies to the volunteers who helped out in the lead up to the day and obviously to all the volunteers who worked so hard on the day - until next year!
