Local solicitors raise money for rural chaplains
The recent Dubbo Wills Day raised $2,300 for the rural chaplain ministry in regional areas of Dubbo and Central NSW.
Nearly 60 locals took up the opportunity to have their wills prepared or changed, while solicitors offered their services for free.
Sincere thanks goes to the local solicitors who gave up their time and took part in the day including Kevin Hockey & Associates, Regional Law Group, Dubbo Law, Warwick McCarthy & Co Solicitors and Booth Brown Lawyers.
Newcastle and Central New South Wales Divisional Communications and Public Relations Director Amber Dale is grateful for the support they received for the Wills Day.
“The Dubbo Wills Day was a great success and we couldn't have done it without the help from local solicitors. I would really like to thank each solicitor – Trevor Jones, Kevin Hockey, Laney Luk, Claire Booth, Warwick McCarthy and Amy Lonsdale – for their time and effort on the day to raise funds for the rural chaplains,” says Ms Dale.
Salvation Army Officers Majors Trevor and Maree Strong were also thankful for the financial assistance, which will help support their work assisting farmers regional areas.
"We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the Wills Day,” says rural chaplain Major Maree Strong.
“Our ministry to farmers, contractors and small businesses affected by drought conditions and its consequences over the past twelve months has seen an expansion of our work and increased demands on our resources.
“With Christmas fast approaching, we plan to use these funds raised to provide assistance to families over this period."
