Anti-Poverty Week is a campaign that draws attention to the poverty people are experiencing, and how it can be prevented and eradicated.
This year, The Salvation Army’s theme is, ‘Don’t be afraid to speak up and out for financial freedom’. The tagline, ‘Money talks: The conversations we need to have,’ encourages people to have a conversation with their loved ones or a professional Moneycare financial counsellor about their financial situation.
The Salvation Army wants people to know there is hope to overcome their money problems and we are here to support them.
Salvation Army campaigns, events and promotions can engage the community to seek the support they need to improve their financial wellbeing or overcome a crisis. Events during Anti-Poverty Week can also engage people to advocate.
This toolkit includes resources to help you promote Anti-Poverty Week, any relevant events your location may be hosting, ways people can get involved and your community support services.
