Employees from Territorial Headquarters in Sydney wore red to work yesterday, to help raise funds for the NSW bushfires.

Commissioner James Condon says he is very grateful for the generous spirit of the employees, who raised over $1,500 for the Bushfire Disaster Appeal.

“Thank you to everyone who has given today, on this Red Day, for the Bushfire Disaster Appeal. Having been up there on Sunday, I’ve seen firsthand the devastation, and your money will assist people to rebuild their lives.”

Kathy Nakic, an employee at Territorial Headquarters who collected donations yesterday, was touched by the generosity shown.

“It is truly an inspiration to work with so many dedicated employees and Salvation Army officers who are committed to making a difference in people's lives. Your generous contributions during this time of need are much appreciated and we thank you for all that you continue to do.”

Other Salvation Army staff from around the territory also took collections yesterday to raise money for the Bushfire Disaster Appeal.
