A group of Salvation Army volunteers enjoyed rooftop views in an appreciation dinner at Sydney’s Streetlevel Mission last Thursday night.

The night honoured The Salvation Army volunteers and was a time for them to come together and connect. 19 volunteers enjoyed the intimate event after a year of serving their communities in social centres such as Streetlevel, during natural disasters, and in local Salvation Army corps.

Major Bruce Harmer spoke on the night, thanking the volunteers for their commitment and faithfulness in service.

“We are so grateful for the way you give through your voluntary acts, and we want to honour you for the part you play in supporting the overall mission of The Salvation Army,” Major Bruce Harmer said.

Stan Walker, winner of Australian Idol 2009 and supporter of The Salvation Army, attended the dinner and shared his appreciation for our volunteers.

Students from the Salvos Ambassadors Movement were waiters for the night, serving the honoured guests their Christmas meal.
