Call to Prayer for General André Cox

19 December 2014

International Headquarters has issued a call to prayer for General André Cox as he enters surgery to remove a small tumor in the left lung.

The General and Commissioner Silvia Cox have been deeply grateful for the many assurances of prayer that have reached them from around the world since you received my letter of 11 November 2014, informing you that the General would undergo medical investigations.

I now write to let you know that a small solitary tumour has been identified on the General's left lung. This will be addressed by surgical intervention, and it is anticipated that surgery will be performed during the week commencing Monday 5 January 2015. Some six to eight weeks of convalescence have been advised, therefore, the Chief of the Staff and Commissioner Nancy Roberts will fulfil the General’s overseas engagements throughout January and February.

The General's doctors have offered an encouraging prognosis, citing their early diagnosis and the General's overall excellent health as most helpful factors.

I know you will join me in assuring the General of our continuing commitment to uphold him, Commissioner Silvia and the family before the throne of grace during these days.

Word of the General's recovery will be shared following surgery.

Feel free to share this word and encourage your people to engage in intercessory prayer for the General.

Sincerely yours,

William A. Roberts
CHIEF OF THE STAFF
