Direct from the TC: Call to prayer for France
Dear friends,
I send this communique to you with the express request for your prayer support for the thousands of Parisians and others across France, and indeed the world, who have experienced such loss in the last 48 hours. Even as I type, the full impact and cost of the terror attacks in Paris continues to grow.
At this time of deep grief the power of prayer is the strongest and most potent of all faith practices. Can I urge you to pray earnestly for those who have experienced loss on such a large scale.
General Andre Cox has communicated with the world regarding the terror attacks in Paris. The General's communication can be found at the following link: http://www.salvationarmy.org/ihq/news/statement141115.
In concluding can I ask that you call your people to prayer for all those impacted by the terror attacks. Please also pray that God's people, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will be a divine source of grace, love and comfort as so many struggle to make sense of such evil perpetrated on innocent men, women and children.
In Psalm 46:1 we read, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble". The Psalmist reminds us that God is very present when we need Him most. As we pray and lift up those affected by these attacks, join me in asking God to indeed be present and active in the very difficult days ahead for those wounded in the terror attacks and for so many family and friends racked with loss and grief at this time.
I urge you to lift your hands to God in deep, earnest and fervent intercessory prayer.
Sincerely,
James Condon
Commissioner
