Christmas Spoken Word Week 2: A Deep Breath of Hope by Shushannah Anderson

Christmas Spoken Word series written by Shushannah Anderson and Louise Mathieson, and performed by Shushannah Anderson. 'A Deep Breath of Hope' Round and round the people run, all the things that must be done Round and round, day in, day out, you can’t come up for air. Do you know the feeling?? World is spinning, time is running Waves are dunking, we’re all crushing Down and down into the ground... But how we long for more - well – less? More rest! That’s when Hope speaks, and lifts my head. Lifts me off that crazy treadmill Up above the crowd Like a toddler perched on Daddy’s shoulders And now I can see the story on its way – ALL things made new. And while I must wait In this wild, fluid space Between was, now, and not yet Sweet Hope, my old friend, Whispers to me again: Keep looking ahead. So round and round the world may run, full of things that must be done, I won’t be drowned, day in, day out - I’ll look ahead with Hope.
