Day 3 National Prayer Focus | Abide in Him Part 2 with James Condon

COMMISSIONER JAMES CONDON, Communications Consultant (External Executive Relations) - Queensland Division

DAY 3 NATIONAL PRAYER FOCUS 2022
My wife Jan and I were stationed as corps officers at Auburn in Sydney and during our time there I was greatly challenged following my reading of Colossians chapter 1 in my daily devotions one day. I was particularly drawn to verse 18 "that in everything He might have pre-eminence". As I look back over half a century of service to God through The Salvation Army, I reflect on the challenge to keep Jesus at the centre of it all.

It is so easy to get sidetracked by issues: be it with The Salvation Army, local community, politics, people or even problems around the world. So many things take us away from Jesus being the centre of it all.

May I suggest a daily prayer - "Jesus be at the centre of it all today".

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. How do I handle side-tracks in my life and ministry?
2. What will my life and service look like if Jesus really is the centre of it all?

Excerpt from The National Prayer Focus Salvos Field Guide daily devotions.
The Salvation Army Australia's National Prayer Focus 2022 is based on the book Jesus Centered: Focusing on Jesus in a Distracted World by Steve Brown. The Salvation Army Australia's National Prayer Focus 2022 will be a powerful time of connection, rejuvenation and joy as we seek God and seek good together. The National Prayer Focus 'Salvos Field Guide' daily devotions and corresponding nightly online meetings will provide a deep and valuable prayer resource as we walk forward into the future.

  1. I enjoyed your Teaching Com James the first time, and I enjoyed our three weeks so much that I taking the opportunity to repeat these three weeks. Today I was blessed n challenged again as I repeat day 3.

Thank you for the reflection and the 6 points.

May our Salvation Army keep Jesus at the centre of it all.

    I too love Colossians 1: 18.

May we indeed learn to wrestle in prayer
Take hold of You in prayer
    And pray break through prayers
