DAY 4 NATIONAL PRAYER FOCUS 2022
I was challenged by Hagar's story in Genesis 16. Names in the Hebrew Bible hold so much weight, so much significance. Hagar's own name means forsaken. Out of this experience at the lowest point in her life, she named God as the God who sees and later named her son Ishmael, the God who hears.
She was no longer forsaken. This seeing, hearing God is a God of love. God is love.
REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. How many people in our world today feel invisible, abandoned forsaken, unloved?
2. Perhaps your response to God's lavish and steadfast love is to write your own stanza of what it was like to be seen by God, known and loved for the first time?
