Day 8 National Prayer Focus | Serve like him with Crystal Lee

LIEUTENANT CRYSTAL LEE, Corps Officer - Mandurah Corps Team Member - Western Australia Division

DAY 8 NATIONAL PRAYER FOCUS 2022
In the reality TV Show MasterChef, contestants are often required to participate in service challenges, where they cook and serve a three-course meal to others.

Serving food to someone is one of the many definitions of the verb ‘serve.’ According to the Oxford Dictionary, ‘serve’ also means ‘to perform duties or services for another person or an organisation’. Jesus came down to earth and chose to live and serve radically differently. Jesus demonstrated to his followers that servanthood isn’t about a position, rather a heart posture. The heart posture of humility.

Whatever our status, pedigree, or skills, let’s be the people of God who follow Jesus’ example and serve with humility like Christ.

REFLECTION QUESTIONS
1. How much are you in awe of who God is and what he has done?
2. How do you think this relates to your level of humility?
3. When and where does pride most often manifest itself in you? Why?
4. What helps and hinders you in acting like the Good Samaritan?
