At The Salvation Army ‘financial inclusion’ involves creating a community of people who can support one another with developing a healthy mindset around money.
We come together to improve access to financial opportunities for everyone, and enhance the overall financial wellbeing for our whole movement — Officers, staff, volunteers and the people we serve.
This toolkit provides information on The Salvation Army’s financial wellbeing resources for staff and employees, financial inclusion resources for engaging with the community, and the Normalising Money Conversations resources.

Normalising Money Conversations is a long-term action plan for teams and individuals within The Salvation Army organisation. It aims to make talking about our finances comfortable, shame-free and proactive, with the goal of reducing financial stress, and enhancing financial and workplace wellbeing.
There is power in sharing what's going on with our finances with people who care about us. For many people at the Salvos, your work team feels like family — a trusted group of people you see on a regular basis. You share weekend highlights, jokes and movie recommendations. You work through challenges together and want what’s best for them.
Having empowering, compassionate, lighthearted money conversations with your colleagues is one more way to believe in good for them.
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2, NIV).
