Homelessness Week | 5-11 August 2024
As one of the leading providers of homelessness services in Australia, The Salvation Army's Homelessness Week campaign seeks to raise awareness of and advocate for solutions around the issue of homelessness.
The Salvation Army’s 2024 theme for Homelessness Week is: "End homelessness — for good".
This theme encourages all members of our community, including Salvos staff, volunteers, corps, partner organisations, and government sectors, to work together to eradicate homelessness — for good.
The theme also highlights the positive (good) flow-on effects that stem from secure housing — such as improved health and mental health outcomes, strengthened social connections, ability to maintain secure education and employment, and more.*
Homelessness Week Toolkit
This toolkit includes resources to help you:
- Promote Homelessness Week and any relevant events your location may be hosting
- Raise awareness around the issue of homelessness and highlight ways people can help to end homelessness — ‘for good’
- Highlight community support services for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness
*Homelessness Australia, the national peak body for homelessness in Australia, hosts Homelessness Week annually, encouraging homelessness services and community groups to educate the community and advocate for change via national and local community events, media and social media activities.
