Self Denial Appeal 2025 resources

Every year, the Self Denial Appeal calls members of The Salvation Army to sacrificially give to other countries where there is great need. Traditionally, the call has been to give one week’s salary. Such acts of generosity are love in action — the kind Jesus called us to.

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions” (1 John 3:16-18, NIV).

This year’s Self Denial Appeal officially commences on Sunday 2 March. The Altar Service (Week 6) is scheduled for Sunday 6 April.
