Composer: Sam Creamer
Composition Style: Selection
Difficulty: Medium/Difficult
Notes: Every New Day comprises three well-known worship songs - 'The Steadfast Love of the Lord', 'My Greatest Love is You', and 'Holy, Holy, Holy (Nicaea)'. All three songs reference praising God in the morning for each new day. With this theme considered, this selection would be most suited as a prelude to Sunday morning worship, however, will surely be useful for other musical contributions in worship and concert presentations. If desired, sections D-I and I-end could also work as stand-alone pieces.
Composer: John Larsson/arr. Donald Mayne
Composition Style: Swing Arrangement
Difficulty: Medium/Difficult
Notes: He Came To Give Us Life from the Gowans and Larsson music 'Jesus Folk' is a staple of many a corps Sunday repertoire. This version requires the musicians to give it a real "Broadway Swing" feel.
Composer: Reuben Morgan/arr. Brian Hogg
Composition Style: Song Arrangement
Difficulty: Medium
Notes: In a world where we are seemingly always on the move and preoccupied with life, and all it throws at us, it is often difficult to find peace. I’m constantly reminded of the scripture reference where we are simply called to “Be Still and know that He is God”; or when Jesus calls out to the wind, and turbulence “Quiet! Be still!” At those times His peace which overshadows all else prevails. Sometimes, however, we are the ones who need to make the decision, the choice, to simply ‘Be Still’. This song reminds me of that choice I need to make... It’s not a peace I can create on my own – it is His peace that I need, that I often crave to just rest and breathe in His peace and presence.
Composer: Ivor Bosanko/arr. Britteny Ling
Composition Style: Song Arrangement
Difficulty: Medium
Notes: In The Strength is a funky take on an old favourite, and is sure to be enjoyed as a congregational sing-along if so desired! This was written with a funk-style marching band in mind, sauntering through the street with a great crowd following and dancing along.
