2023 Collection

Composer: arr. Donald Mayne

Composition Style: Song Arrangement

Difficulty: Medium

Notes: Cornerstone has become a favourite of many churches for its homage to the original lyrics of Soild Rock combined with an additional new chorus. This song speaks to the heart of many Christians who throughout their life struggle with what life might throw their way but know that Jesus has them anchored to him with his grace and provision.

Composer: arr. Sam Creamer

Composition Style: Cornet Solo

Difficulty: Medium/Difficult

Notes: Set in a modern and uplifting funk rock style, this new presentation of the hymn 'Love Lifted Me' is suitable as a solo feature for the cornet, trumpet or flugelhorn.

Composer: arr. John Anderson

Composition Style: Hymn Setting

Difficulty: Easy/Medium

Notes: For many people, the words, particularly the first verse, associated with the tunes used in this arrangement is probably the first song they learned as a child. The lyrics by Anna Bartlett Warner were originally a poem for children. It was William B. Bradbury who set these words to the tune we use today. The alternate tune used is 'Bowes', composed by Lieutenant Colonel Ray Bowes. It first appeared in his selection Jesus Loves Me. It wasn't long before it was included in The Salvation Army tunebook. This arrangement includes both tunes.

Composer: arr. Paul Prince

Composition Style: Song Arrangement

Difficulty: Medium

Notes: This arrangement of the popular contemporary Christian song is based on Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT): May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.

The song has been scored for a smaller brass band/ensemble and could be used equally at the end of a Sunday church service or at the end of a concert/gathering to play (pray) a blessing over everyone as highlighted in the lyrics. The arrangement also makes references to John Rutters music 'The Lord bless you and keep you'.
