Share the love and peace of Jesus at Easter

Salvation Army research shows that at Easter — and other special occasions — around 20 per cent of Australians who do not regularly attend church would consider attending a Christian church (TSA Sentiment Tracker, October 23, year to date data). 

Easter is an opportune time for Christians to share the amazing love of Jesus and invite people to Salvation Army faith gatherings.  

To support mission expressions with this, the Brand Department is pleased to offer a complimentary postcard, with a beautiful Easter message and design. 

We encourage you to distribute these to your community to warmly invite people to your Easter event or service. This reflection card introduces the peace given to us because of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, and we hope and pray that people discover more about Jesus for themselves at our Salvo Easter gatherings. 

Some ideas for distribution: 

• Add to emergency relief packages given in the weeks leading up to Easter 
• Organise corps members to do letterbox drops — consider adding flyers for your other events/services (see Brand’s Easter Toolkit) 
• Give to members of your community programs such as playgroup, senior’s groups or Positive Lifestyle Program meetings with an Easter egg and Salvos Magazine/Kidzone 
• Hand out at street ministry collection points, the local Salvos Store or through chaplains 
• Encourage corps members to give an invitation to ‘that one person’ 
• Use it as a ‘Happy Easter’ card to businesses, schools or individuals who supported you at Christmas or may support you at Red Shield time

Jesus says, “I give you peace, the kind of peace only I can give. It isn't like the peace this world can give. So don't be worried or afraid” (John 14:27, CEV Bible translation). 

Peace. Whether it’s found in the solitude of nature or a quiet corner of your home, it’s temporary, isn’t it? 

However peaceful a moment in time may be, at some point, noise will re-enter. Other people. Traffic. The return of anxious thoughts. It’s hard to move away from the stress of life for very long. 

What if you could have a feeling of peace that was permanent, and with you, even in life’s challenges? 

The good news is you can. Jesus promises us peace — peace of mind and heart. Jesus lived, died and rose back to life so we can experience his peace. And so that, whatever is happening in life, we do not need to be troubled or afraid, because Jesus will be with us.

Cards will be delivered to the postal address provided within 2-3 weeks of orders closing.
