Lieut-Colonel Xuyen Tam Pho (Sam) is a retired officer who has served with The Salvation Army for over 30 years, with 20 of those being at Box Hill Corps (Vic).

Lieut-Colonel Xuyen Tam Pho (Sam) is a retired officer who has served with The Salvation Army for over 30 years, with 20 of those being at Box Hill Corps (Vic). He fled Vietnam during the fall of Saigon in 1978 and arrived in Australia after enduring a dreadful five-day journey on a crowded boat. During this time, Sam recalls being reminded of mankind’s sinfulness but also God’s amazing grace. His greatest desire today is to keep walking alongside people, being open, sharing his life and getting to know others.
