Notes: Come To My Heart presents a three-verse setting of Timothy Matthew's tune 'Margaret', commonly associated with Emily Elizabeth Steel Elliot's hymn lyrics "O, Come to my heart, Lord Jesus". The three verses are each written differently in pitch and tone colours to paint the themes of verses 1 (Jesus' birth), 3 (Jesus' life and death), and 4 (Eternal life). The final chorus is also presented with longer phrasing as the hymn's lyric also changes - "My heart shall rejoice..."

This piece incorporates two well-known Christmas carols; 'Hark The Herald Angels Sing' and 'Angels We Have Heard On High', moving from a somewhat ethereal and subdued opening to a bright, energetic and rhythmic conclusion.
