Why freedom?

The Salvation Army: We're about people finding freedom.

It's a pretty broad statement, but we're a pretty diverse bunch. Across the country we're engaged with every demographic and every age group. We're active in the big cities, the country towns and even outback cattle stations. You’ll find us involved in national issues and you’ll also find us one-on-one in your local cafe.

But regardless of where we are or what we're doing, one thing always remains true: we're about people finding freedom.

Freedom from fear. Freedom from neglect. Freedom from poverty and addiction.

Freedom to dream. Freedom to love. Freedom to make a difference.

Freedom to live life to the full.

We know when we are at our best because stories of freedom are being written in and over people's lives. They are stories of community, stories of action, and stories of faith.

Join with us for one weekend as we celebrate freedom stories of the past, present, and those that are yet to be written.

The Salvation Army acknowledges the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.

The Salvation Army is committed to ensuring the provision of safe and inclusive environments for children, young people and vulnerable people where they feel respected, safe, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation.
