Joy shares her story of volunteering at Bendigo Salvos (Vic.). Trained as a chef, her love of cooking has gone beyond nourishing bodies to nourishing minds and souls. Joy says what she loves about volunteering is “feeling appreciated ... and helping someone eat that normally might not eat”. You get far more out of it “than what you give”, says Joy.
