These resources are intended to support and equip Salvos to engage effectively with people seeking asylum and refugees (PSAR) communities through inclusion lens. This inclusive engagement will enable the creation of faith pathways, discipleship, and leadership development of people from PSAR backgrounds.
The NBP resource contains essential information that will inform you about the new Salvos community refugee sponsorship program initiative. You can download NBP Guidebook, watch videos of information session or interview with Auburn Salvos who is the first community supporter group in TSA Australia. The New Beginnings Project provides a wonderful opportunity for your Corps or faith communities to share the love of Jesus to a refugee family (who has been recognised by UNHCR overseas and has no links or family in Australia) and support them to build a new life in your local community.
The PSAR Engagement Resources are a collection of ideas, guidelines and tools to support Salvos and Ministry Leaders to connect with and build relationship with people from PSAR backgrounds in their community. These resources can be used both for individual’s and faith communities’ engagements.
This tool contains practical actions that Salvationists can do to be inclusive of people from PSAR backgrounds and to be advocates on PSAR issues. It is intended to support Salvos to be involved and active in sharing the love of Jesus to people from PSAR backgrounds and in advocating for injustice that may be experienced by people from this community.
