Alan's Story - Video
Alan was living two different lives – working as a financial advisor in the city while struggling with gambling, addiction and mental health problems. He started living in his car and then the office and things soon became very dark, very quickly.
When Alan came to Foster House in Surry Hill, Sydney, there was lots of empathy, compassion and understanding, and very little judgement, which Alan says was important because he “was judging myself so hard (he) didn’t need anyone else to jump on board”. Today, Alan works at Foster House, advocating and bringing his lived experience to help the men navigate their own paths.
