Junior Soldiers can be used as a small group discipleship material for children, or as curriculum for your Kids Church or Sunday School.

  • Lesson 1 - Keeping our promise
    For children to review their Junior Soldier promise and explore what it means to them, and to identify some of the things they might find helpful in keeping their promise.
  • Lesson 2 - Super-human power
    To help the Junior Soldiers to explore that once they have made a choice to follow God that it is the Holy Spirit who empowers and uses them.
  • Lesson 3 - Jesus = truly human
    For the children to explore how Jesus was fully human and how that can help to impact our faith.
  • Lesson 4 - Jesus = truly God
    For the children to explore how Jesus was divine and how God has made a way for us to be in a right relationship with him.
  • Lesson 5 - Free to be you
    For children to understand that they are unique and loved creations of God and can be confident being themselves.
  • Lesson 6 - What are you thinking?
    For the children to understand the impact of their thoughts on who they are and to explore what sorts of things God wants us to focus on.
  • Lesson 7 - Talking to God
    To help the Junior Soldier discover and explore prayer, focusingspecifically on adoration and thanksgiving.
  • Lesson 8 - Talking to God about myself and others
    To help the children understand that they can bring their needs and the needs of others to God.
  • Lesson 9 - Self Denial
    For the children to explore what ‘self denial’ means within The Salvation Army and how Junior Soldiers can participate and respond.
  • Lesson 10 - ‘An empty tomb’ – Easter
    To help the children understand there is strong evidence that Jesus was dead but came back to life and to consider how we know that the story of the resurrection is true.
