International Overdose Awareness Day takes place on 31 August.
This day aims to raise awareness of overdose and strategies for avoiding it. It is a time to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose, and acknowledge the grief of family and friends who are left behind. The day aims to raise awareness of the stigma attached to drug consumption and drug-related deaths.
