IDAHOBIT stands for International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination and Transphobia - now referred to as the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.
IDAHOBIT highlights progress towards equality and the ongoing impact of discrimination for LGBTQIA+ people, reminding us of our shared responsibility to create change. It also reminds us that communities truly flourish when all people experience equity, dignity, justice and belonging.
As a faith-based organisation, The Salvation Army believes that every person is loved by God and welcomed by Jesus. We therefore love, welcome, respect and serve all people, including those of diverse sexuality, gender identity and gender expression. The Salvation Army seeks to cultivate spaces where people of diverse sexualities and genders are safe, welcomed, valued, and able to participate and flourish.
“Dear friends, since God loved us this much, we must love each other.” (1 John 4:11, CEV).
