This year’s theme for the Self Denial Appeal is ‘Love in Action’ and focuses on Indonesia, the Philippines and Tonga. These short videos from the Self Denial ‘newsroom’ profiling the work of The Salvation Army in these countries, help the children get to know these nations and how they can raise money to support these projects.
In Week 2 of Self Denial we meet Donato from the Philippines. He is in Year 11 at school and loves learning about science and how the world works. He also goes to the local corps and plays drums in the worship band. In this video, we see how The Salvation Army helped him and his family raise chickens and build their own business.
