Self Denial Appeal: Week 4 - Kids video
This year’s theme for the Self Denial Appeal is ‘Love in Action’ and focuses on Indonesia, the Philippines and Tonga. These short videos from the Self Denial ‘newsroom’ profiling the work of The Salvation Army in these countries, help the children get to know these nations and how they can raise money to support these projects.
In Week 4 of Self Denial, we are learning about a country called Tonga, which is a group of islands in the South Pacific with pristine beaches, coral reefs and tropical rainforests. On the main island, called Tongatapu, The Salvation Army has opened kindergartens to prepare children for school and teach them about God.
We meet the head teacher Mele who says that God has guided her every step of the way. The children here learn all sorts of things – but also develop emotionally, physically and spiritually through the support of the teachers.
