These resources are intended to encourage and equip Salvo’s to include people with disabilities more effectively and authentically in The Salvation Army mission. Disability inclusion is about creating mission expressions where people with disabilities experience welcome and belonging. Ensuring they have equitable opportunities to engage with mission, discipleship, and leadership within The Salvation Army.
*NEW* Belonging and becoming: A disability inclusion devotional
Belonging and becoming is an accessible digital devotional featuring 7-devotions contributed by Salvos with lived experience of disability. This resource will help you explore how we can create communities where more people with disabilities experience belonging and can become more reflective of God’s Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven. Each devotion focuses on a different aspect of disability inclusion and features a biblical perspective, reflection questions, and a prayer.
Disability Inclusion Checklist
The Disability Inclusion Checklist is here to help your local mission expression reflect on the inclusion of people with disabilities in your context. The checklist can be used by mission leaders or members keen to advocate for greater disability inclusion.
Disability Inclusion Discipleship Study
This discipleship study on the story of David and Mephibosheth from 2 Samuel 9 provides an opportunity to explore a scriptural understanding of God’s heart for disability inclusion. This discipleship study can be used by small groups or individuals.
